    MATT Major is head chef at EightyOne Fine Food & Wine in Berwick. For the past 2 years, Matt has been the "Festival Chef Manager" of the "Noosa Food and Wine Festival" where he and his team, help visiting chefs at the festival, they serve more than 18,000 meals throughout the four days. He looks after the chefs at the festival village. The village covers the celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, the wine-tasting room, the food critics' cooking competition, lifestyle lunches and the guest chef picnics, and also manages and co-ordinate the behind-the-scenes catering. He started out at the Greville Bar in Prahran with Michael Ryan and his CV includes Donovans and Hotel Spencer. He lives in Tecoma, a part of Melbourne he says is rich with producers. The food style at Eightyone is Gastropub with Mediterranean flavours using fresh, seasonal and local produce from the Gippsland/Yarra Valley region.
