The Meridian International School - Flinders Street, Melbourne
The Meridian International School is situated at the historical old gas & fuel showroom at 196 Flinders Street right in the hear of Melbourne's CBD. The Meridian International School is an owned subsidiary of Australian's largest private education provider acquiring the assets and facilities of the Victorian Business School. Meridian specialises in education on Internation students from Indonesia and South Eas Asia. Courses available include high school programmes, certificate of Cookery and Hospitality Management. Two state of the art cookery kitchens make up the balance of what the school has to offer. The Waldorf 800 Series equipment package was chosen by the college mainly because of its Australian manufacturing origin, but more so for its flexibility in operation, and ease of cleaning. This package included the Waldorf 800 Series four burner ranges, chargrills and salamanders. Other Moffat products installed included Convotherm combi-steamers, a Friginox blast chiller/freezer, Washtech passthrough dishwasher and two Multideck ovens with a prover. The project was fitted out by Eymac Catering Equipment Pty Ltd, a Melbourne based kitchen contractor. Kitchen 1 was completed in Feburary 2006, with Kitchen 2 taking on students in June 2006.
