Victoria - Sales Consultant | Bakery
1. JOB PURPOSE To represent the company in selling the full range of specialised Bakery equipment within the specified territory.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (KPI’s inclusive)
Budget
- Ensures that the bakery monthly budget set is achieved.
Sales Activity
- The Victorian Service Team is responsible for servicing the Bakery end user and dealer & customer market in Victoria and Tasmania
- Your territory will cover Victoria and Tasmania
- Expectations, to be in the Vic/Tas market on a regular basis every 8 weeks actively calling on customers as well as developing the end user market.
- Developing New Business - Complies recognizing and identifying prospective new business opportunities developed by minimum of 3-5 cold calls per day, using trade directories, building reports. Then following through on selling opportunities.
- Assess existing distribution requirements and recommend all Moffat products that provide appropriate technical solutions and reselling opportunities
- Advises customers on Moffat product selection, and become well versed with modification, use and associated safety and legislative requirements and storage.
- Follows up with end user customers to ensure satisfaction with products purchased and arranges modifications or other remedies needed, these recommendations to be channelled back through the distribution.
- Ensure through follow up, all Supplies reference guides and operating and system manuals to reach customer expectations
- Actively participate in local and regional exhibitions and conferences
Pricing
- Complete and document written quotations and advise credit terms, record orders, and complete sales contracts, in conjunction with Moffat distribution network.
Product Presentations/Testing
- Arrange demonstrations of Moffat product systems either by personally demonstrating or in conjunction with a Moffat Executive Chef.
- Become well versed with using power presentations to demonstrate and train customers in the use of Moffat equipment and systems.
Reporting
- Daily Report - Prepares sales weekly call reports, which will include all contacts made, actions implemented, and documented follow up.
- Submit weekly activity plans
- Competitor Activity -Prepares information on competitor activity and reports findings on a monthly basis.
- Long Term Plan – Prepares information on potential growth areas in the market and how the existing dealer market will be expanded.
Health & Safety (applies at all times)
- To ensure that the department is compliant with Health and Safety legislation and aware of emergency evacuation procedures.

4. ASSIGNMENT AND REVIEW OF WORK
- Largely determined by Sales Manager -Vic and by business/departmental requirements.
- Regular communication with the Sales Manager -Vic with regard to specific projects/duties..
5. DECISION MAKING
- The post holder will be expected to make decisions with regard to Sales within the Bakery sector.
- Decisions are passed upwards when there is significant impact on the business outside the boundaries of normal practice
6. DIMENSIONS The post holder has direct budgetary responsibility.

8. SELECTION CRITERIA
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience or knowledge gained in Sales role or environment or ideally within the wholesale bakery industry or have worked as Chef in a Bakery /Bakery environment.
- Ability to manage a dealer network with specified Territory.
- Sound understanding of costing’s and budget’s to determine gross margin
- Ability to review the territory and identify new business opportunities for future sales growth
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present using PowerPoint presentations to dealers.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy in MS Office including Proficient use in PowerPoint and Excel at the advanced level and with Lotus Notes
- Experience using SAP is desirable
- Ability to meet set deadlines
